Dance with Me
A few years ago I was at a retreat in our beautiful South-West. Our facilitator had asked each of us to close our eyes and get a vision from God to draw. Now I am definitely not the best artist in the world, but I managed to sketch out this image of Jesus and I sitting on a rock (left hand side) looking beyond to the world. He is pointing out to me a couple dancing across the surface of the earth. His words are “See I will dance with you around the world”. The verse he gave me was from Psalm 37:
Your righteousness will shine, your cause as the noon day sun.
At the end of the retreat we were once again asked to draw and this time the image had zoomed in to the couple dancing together. Jesus held me in his arms as he guided me around the dance floor, the world.
A while later I was in a Melbourne hotel for a work conference and there on the wall was a picture so close to the one I had drawn of my dance with Jesus. I was mesmerised as God took me back to the original artwork which I had slipped into a drawer and forgotten about. I returned to my home and began to spend time each day exploring the dance and my relationship with my God. Out of those explorations was born this series of Pausing with God.
Take some time now to journey with me in a discovery of what it means to spend each day dancing with God. Explore what the dance looks like, where and when it takes place, and how we grow as we allow ourselves to enter into the embrace of the arms of Jesus and be guided around the floor by the master dance himself…
